Three given suspended sentences for massive Champagne fraud

  1. Slaps on the wrist for outrageous wine crime. Of course, I doubt anyone who frequents the discount supermarket chain Ed would know the diffrence.

    BTW I happen to live in the region whence the Midnight Express shipments arrive in Bordeaux during really bad vintages.

    1. If it wasn't vintage Champagne, what was it? The article didn't say.

        "Fake vintage Champagne" could be anything -- from labeling non-vintage cuvées of "true" Champagne as vintage, to labeling (e.g.) Crémant d'Alsace as vintage Champagne, to . . .
