      If it wasn't vintage Champagne, what was it? The article didn't say.

        "Fake vintage Champagne" could be anything -- from labeling non-vintage cuvées of "true" Champagne as vintage, to labeling (e.g.) Crémant d'Alsace as vintage Champagne, to . . .

        Slaps on the wrist for outrageous wine crime. Of course, I doubt anyone who frequents the discount supermarket chain Ed would know the diffrence.

        BTW I happen to live in the region whence the Midnight Express shipments arrive in Bordeaux during really bad vintages.
