Chopita? (East 45th Street)

This spot seems to have opened only recently in the old Green Olive/Darna 2 Go location. Web site (http://chopitanyc.com) says it is kosher and the place is closed on shabbos but I don't see any mention of the specific kashrus certification. The web site does say everything is Beis Yosef shechita.

Anyoe have more info on the hashgacha and quality of the food?

After trekking over there, I learned that certification is by the Cup-K. Beyond that, I have no information....

Looking at the menu, I'm not sure why this would succeed when Green Olive and Darna2Go couldn't make it in the same location. Both of them failed with VERY similar offerings/prices, good food, and reasonable cleanliness/service.

This is the only kosher restaurant in easy walking distance of my office, I really wish them well, but I don't quite understand their logic.

I must confess that I have no clue who or what the Badatz Beis Yosef is and I haven't been able to find any other restaurants under its hashgacha.

From what I can tell, it looks like it replaced the old Bukharian hechscher. The last three places at that address were supervised by BBY.
