There are several fairly recent threads reviewing the food in Center City. What's great is there are places with great food walkable form the business/convention/tourist district.

Not Center City, but not far out in Merion Station, at 370 Montgomery Ave, Citron and Rose was outstanding for dinner.
Do check out my more complete review in the Philadelphia

It's a 10-15 minute walk from the Merion train station on the Paoli line (nee R5) from Center City. I wouldn't be surprised if the excellent staff at C&R would be willing to arrange a taxi to/from the station.
You can also take the 44 bus from Center City which stops at C&R's doorstep. Probably a 40 minute ride outside of rush hour.

re: zsero
Most people staying in CC would leave from Suburban or Market East Stations, adding 5-10 minutes. These stations are closer to the hotels.
Also worth pointing out that the Cynwyd Line is a "dinky" that runs less frequently than the Paoli line and shuts down early. Paoli runs til 12:30am or so on weeknights and later on weekends, it's the rail system's busiest route.
