We will be in La Jolla for my birthday and staying close to downtown/cove/beach area.

We are looking for recommendations for a dinner spot (we are not big on Thai or Indian cuisine) but otherwise pretty much anything goes.

Thanks in advance

Theo

    Herringbone. Good for celebrations.

Assuming you are there between Tue to Thu then I would suggest TBL3.

Eddie Vs and Georges at the Cove will get mentioned, eventually, so I'll do it now. I'll throw in Whisknladle as a non-conventional choice.

Maybe Nine-Ten at the cove or AR Valentien at the Lodge Torrey Pines. Both places offer an atmosphere where you can dine and have a conversation. Head over to George's for an after dinner drink.
