CSA pickup near(ish) downtown DC? For a single guy?

  • 1

I've never signed up for a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) before, but I'd like to give it a shot this year.

I just have a couple of constraints:

1. I live near Le Droit Park/U St. and I work near Farragut West, so I don't want to go too far out of my way for a pick-up location. Dupont is fine, Foggy Bottom is pushing it.

2. I'm a single guy, so I don't need a huge amount of veggies each week.

Any tips on a good one that is reasonably local and has a smaller share option that's appropriate for one person?

  1. Take a look at DC Green Grocer. Not a CSA but it might be good depending on what you need and want. You can try it to see if you like it and only get deliveries the weeks you want. No contracts, but you do have to buy a "box" for delivery and now they have a "single". I use it sometimes especially when I like the vegetables they have (not a big fruit person).

Their website explains all I needed to try it.
