Jacobs and Brichford Arabella cheese

I bought a small piece of this at Jungle Jim's yesterday (in the Cincy area), without knowing anything about it. Ate some for dinner last night and loved it! It's a farmstead Tallegio-style cheese, nicely salty and creamy, with an earthy, funky smell. I'd never even heard of it (or Jacobs and Brichford) before, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that their farm is only about an hour's drive from my home!

Has anyone else tried this (or any other Jacobs and Brichford cheese)? I am definitely now a fan of the Arabella, but haven't tried any of their other products.

  1. I hadn't heard of them either, as they are a new to cheesemaking. They are a farmstead operation in southern Indiana. Their cheeses look promising. I'll be on the lookout for them, once they become available outside of the surrounding area. It is increasingly difficult to keep up with all of the new cheesemakers across the US!

    1. I love this cheese. It trumps the pasty, doughy-ness of other tallegios I have tried. And it's grass fed, totally delicious.
