Where to buy Kimchee in Etobicoke?

  • 9

I'm lazy and don't feel like heading into Koreatown/Downtown to buy some kimchee.

Does anyone know of a store that sells it in the south Etobicoke area?

  1. I was surprised to see kimchee at the Scarborough Costco today, but I haven't tried it, so I can't endorse.

    1. etobicoke costco also sells kimchi, but they are in pretty large tubs (maybe 4L is my guess). i have not tried it.

      1. There are a bunch of Korean restaurants in the Dundas/Bloor St. intersection -- on Dundas (east of Kipling)

        1. Too bad the tubs are so big. I would have given it a go.

The Korean restaurants are a good idea. They'd probably sell me some if I asked nicely. ;-)

I think the costco container was more like 2 litres than 4, but I'm not totally sure.

          2. Have you tried Top Foods on Brown's line? It's an Asian grocery store with an astonishing selection of various cultures. I can get European Fanta (sometimes!) and great Italian arborio rice along with all the Asian foods.

You're welcome! hope you find some good kimchee.

            2. Go to the Mississauga location of PAT Supermarket at 333 Dundas St. E.

It's not Etobicoke, but its not very far across Dundas from the 427, and much easier than going downtown.

I was just there yesterday, in fact.
