Live Dungeness Crabs in Sacramento. Where do you get them?

Since crab season just started, where can I go and be sure I'm getting the real deal, in the tank live, San Francisco dungeness crab? I can't get straight answers at the local chinese stores and Corti and Taylor's have already cooked crabs.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Robert

What kind of straight answer are you not getting? I have not checked to see if live crabs are there yet. But if they are they'd be in a number of Asian markets. Start with SF on 65th.

Well I guess it's a language problem. The SF on 65th is where I was 2 weeks ago and I was told that the live crabs in the tank were San Francisco Dungeness.

I bought two. They were good. I doubt they were from the San Francisco area.

I'd just like to know what I'm getting, and I'd like to taste the San Francisco crabs to see if there is any difference between those and the Alaska crabs.

I am no expert, but do Dungenese crabs come from Alaska?

Actually I'm not sure about Alaska. They come from Oregon and Wshington. As I understand it the dungeness crab season starts here in California then moves north as time goes by. Also Fish and Game in the three states does some co-ordination but I'm not sure how much.
Maybe someone else on the California or San Francisco
Board has better and or more info.
