Minetta reservations - prime seating still impossible?

This has been discussed before in other threads, but they were about a year or so old. Can anyone offer any tips or insight for trying to secure an 8:30pm reservation for 4 on Saturday 2/2? About to start trying this morning and feeling like it just ain't gonna happen! Really don't think we can do before 7 and don't want to eat too late (10).

Will also be booking ACME and deciding later.

For anyone that was interested: I was on hold for a half hour starting at 9am, but finally got through and was able to get 8pm.

I have to think that they don't release prime time tables opentable. There are 5:30 and 6pm almost every day except saturday, and 9:30 most nights. Have you tried calling?

Or just come back in summer. I had zero issues booking whatever I wanted last summer. Customers must all be in the Hamptons.

even on busy weeks they hold back prime tables, but those are released last minute, possibly only hours before the seating.

Also try OpenTable at midnight, MT's account is set up to release tables then. 30 days in advance, I think. Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up Kathryn! Tried this morning - was reminded that it's 30 days and not month day ahead...so will have to try tomorrow. I am skeptical I'll be able to stay up until midnight though...and wonder if they release those times to OpenTable.

I once got an 8pm for two via OpenTable at midnight, not for a weekend night though.

So I tried OT at midnight and, of course, the only openings are 6 and 10pm. Such a turnoff. Will try the phone lines this morning.

Even more frustrating is that my wife is not entirely thrilled about ACME. So while I plan to have a backup in place and then try Minetta closer to 2/2, I'm now back to square one. Which makes me almost turned off to the point where I don't want to go to Minetta!!

And no, we can't do 6pm :(
