Not sure it is restaurant, but in Wayland Square (Angell Street) there is a new place called "Olive Tap" next to CVS. A friend of mine said they have fresh bread everyday and yesteday, they were giving it away for free at night, since they had not sold all of it. I'll have to venture over and see what it is all about.

Based upon my Internet research, they are a franchise olive oil / balsamic vinegar / 'gourmet' store. So presumably the fresh bread is for tasting products.

Is there still that franchise olive oil store up on Hope Street in the Rochambeau area? Seems kind of crazy to end up with multiple stores of this type on the East Side in about a one year period (right?). Though I do like my olive oils...

Providence lost the hotel but the restaurant will be run by a hotel/food contractor. The Mall has lost Williams Sonoma and soon the Pottery Barn plus 2 more places on the Hill I cant mention as of yet because it wouldnt be fair until they close.

Not sure how Pottery Barn fits into a restaurant thread, but since it was, I figured I should add that Pottery Barn will be re-opening in Garden City in Cranston, once their space is done.
And maybe it's been mentioned elsewhere but the Mile and a Quarter has opened in the old Barnsider Mile and a Quarter spot on South Main/South Water St

Correct they are moving to GCity like WIlliams and Sonoma. Pottery Barn has their own building. Prov Mall is a dog for a lot of stores. I know the two stores dont fit the restaurant flow but it shows how there is no business in the city.

That's kind of a ridiculous statement. Just in the west end right now, two restaurants have opened in the last four months (Kitchen and north), there are three new restaurants opening in the next four months (garden grilles new spot, Julian's new restaurant, the diner on westminister), the eddy just opened downtown and flan y ajo's bar is on the way, plus the new bar in olneyville is opening soon too. That's seems like plenty of business to me.

Is Garden Grille moving from Pawtucket or just opening a second location in the city (and where??)

They are not moving, it's a new concept.
