NEW: La Fromagerie (Cheese shop in SF Dogpatch), SF with some pics
New cheese shop in the SF Dogpatch not far from Mr. & Mrs. Misc. It's also next to Gilberth's, which I hadn't heard much about.
They have 2 chalkboards filled with lots of cheeses I don't know. There's Four main categories:
soft cheeses $6.95-$35.95 - I like La Tur (cow/goat/sheep) $13.95 ea & Camembert (cow) $17.95/lb
Semi soft cheeses $12.95 - $33.45
Blue Cheeses $14.95 - $37.95 - didn't try, not my fav.
Hard cheese $6.95-$24.95. I know Manchego & Pecorino in this group.
They sell Firebrand breads from Oakland.
Lots of other stuff: WeLoveJam's Blenheim Apricot $10; smoked duck breast; Vermont cultured butter; Parisian macaron frozen in a box, etc.
In January they will start offering a selection of gourmet cheese sandwiches.
Charge it if you want!
To get there: Take the T-Line or Drive, lots of street parking.

Stopped by on a rainy day. The guys there were extremely friendly and encouraged sampling, so not a place to go if you are in a rush, although there are a few pre-cut cheeses in a case in the back.
Decent selection of mainly French cheeses, we ended up getting some Robiola, a brie-like cheese, and a harder sheep's milk cheese. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy from them but would definitely stop if I was in the neighborhood.
While these guys are passionate about cheese, ours weren't cut as professionally as other cheese shops and the wrapping of them was a bit amateur. Our guess was that these guys know there stuff when it comes to cheese but are still getting used to the retail aspect of it.
