Flushing dim sum - New year's Day?

Is my assumption that it will be business as usual at restaurants in Flushing on New year's day correct or way off-base? Obviously I can call on the morning but we're trying to plan with a group coming from diverse locations. Thanks in advance.

It's going to be a day as usual, much like any busy Sunday, perhaps a tiny bit more crowded. All local businesses will be open. I see no reason to call: I doubt that any dim sum parlor takes reservations, at least not to the best of my knowledge.

You don't have to wait until that day to call. You can call now. Also, I live in Bensonhurst's Chinatown and can tell you that none of the Chinese business here ever close, not even on Chinese New Year, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc., etc. I don't think they believe in holidays which is great for me because I can always get a meal or something at the store that I need.
