Where to find good pastrami near the Jersey shore?

I'm trying to find some good pastrami near the shore (not pre-packaged and preferably fatty pastrami), Point Pleasant area generally, does anyone know a place within an hour or so?

Thanks very much again!

Wolfie's restaurant in Toms River is very good. They used to have a sign saying something like "If pastrami were religion, this place would be the temple." and I almost think they meant it.

Frank's towards the north end of Main Street in Asbury would be my first suggestion. Irv's Deli on Route 33 in Neptune would be my second.

In Point Pleasant, there is a little, easy to miss, diner located in a beat up, old strip mall across from Brave New World. The place is called John & Elaine' s. They boast of a "best" or "famous" pastrami sandwich as a special. I've never had it, but intend to as I like the place and the other food I've had there. Perhaps, you might have a chance to take one for the team and try it out?

My wife and I loved having breakfast there. Granted, I'm a poached egg and homefries guy (bacon and/or pork roll when hungover), but it's a solid diner (better than the OB ever was). Try the place, even if it's not for the pastrami, and let us know what you think?

I've never been, but I hear Franks Deli and Restaurant is Asbury Park is the place to go. If you are willing to drive an hour, Hobby's in Newark
