Schiller's Liquor Bar, Amor y Amargo, Luke's Lobster Bar

My companion R and I arrived yesterday around lunch time in town and met with our friend V to go to Momofuku Ssam, but I guess the city is already crowded with tourists like us and everybody is having the same ideas... It was a little less than 3 pm and Ssam was crowded with more than 12 people waiting to get in. We thought that Spotted Pig would be full as well so we decided going to Schiller's. It was fun, had lots of cocktails (bloody mary, hendrick's dry martini, wet ginger martini, wildflower also with hendrick's, manhattan). We had some east coast oysters (1 dollar each from 4 pm, not sure if on weekends as well), french fries (I love their french fries), nachos and pork sandwiches (served duringhappy hour). We like the staff, the decor and the crowd.
Then we headed to PDT, arriving at 5:55 pm and the queue was huge.So we went to Death&Company which also had lots of people. We then went to Amor y Amargo, where R loves. It was excellent, we had Negronis, Amaris (with Fernet and strega, delicious), Sharpie Mustache.R and V ate the pickled egg and liked it a lot.
Later we went to Luke's Lobster bar and had the lobster roll, which was very good, although as I have already written in other post here, I prefer Pearl's one, but R prefers Luke's as this one has less mayo.
Cheers!

  1. Thanks for reporting back! As you might have guessed, around New Year's Eve is a big tourist season for NYC.
