PBS Breakfast Special 2: Revenge of the Omelets.... start the day with a food coma
This is a new Rick Sebak follow-up to his previous docu-tour of American breakfast spots. He found a few which stretch the definitions of breakfast items with ingredients like duck and Brussels sprouts. Many very appealing dishes, except for the ginormous portions, especially in the Hawaiian restaurants. But three cheers for the concept of a roadside bakery along the lines of clam shacks and ice cream stands, with people having coffee and just-made donuts while sitting outdoors at picnic tables.
