similar to Bannock for first date?

I've been to Bannock way too many times for first dates, so I'm in search for a change of pace! :)

I'd like something similar in that I like Bannock's 1) atmosphere, 2) quality of food, 3) price point, and 4) downtown location

Anything similar to Bannock in those regards for a first date? Thank you!

I haven't been in a while, but how about The Gabardine? Or Osteria (on Victoria St) -- obviously a different menu (Italian), but the food is quite good and I find it's a similar atmosphere

I second The Gabardine for a first date! But make sure you check the hours -- I don't think they are open on Saturday or Sunday nights.

The Gabardine was open Saturday night last time I looked but they don't take reservations. I'd also add Richmond Station which does take resos but may be harder to get as it's v. popular.

Gabardine takes reservations for their dinner service but not for lunch. I would pick Gab over Richmond Station for a first date ... the atmosphere is more laid back. Also I think Gab is less expensive than RS. Both have great food.
