Request for recommendations: We are having a semi-catered anniversary party for 20-30 folks and need a quality cake. Considerations include budget and timing - 2 day turnaround required.

Thanks for the input folks. Pressed for time, we went with Oliver's and got a half-sheet black and white mousse cake for $90ish. Design was attractive, service was friendly and the crowd was pleased with the result.

Perhaps the most beautiful and tasty cakes I've seen near Santa Rosa are those of Patisserie Angelica, in Sebastopol.

Worth the small amount of extra time to drive due west of Santa Rosa.

Just scrolled through the site, and it seems heavy on wedding cakes, but the chocolate cakes and other wonders available in the retail store and to order are worth seeking out, IMO.

Served it for Scorpio birthday celebrants and those new to this delicacy went bonkers. Not listed on the online menu, I've also been to parties where the cakes are made in individual serving size rounds. But I will say that they individual size ones are just a little too large after a long meal even for as light a concoction as this. I help everyone else polish off theirs at the table and then wrap mine to take home! The buttercream and light as air macaron layers are even better the next day.
