Bintan

A quick last minute trip to Bintan sees me ill prepared for good eating. We are staying at the Banyan Tree and wondered if there was any good food worth seeking out in the vicinity? Local restaurants preffered but recomendations for above average hotel places gratefully received.

It's been a couple of years now, but I really enjoyed the restaurant at your resort. I think it was Saffron, or something like that. Very nice prawns and risotto. There's also a seafood place at Nirwana Gardens that is supposed to be good, Kelong.

PhilD, Bintan is not exactly a foodie's destination - I'd been there a few times but had never had any outstanding meals.You can find some suggestions here though:
