We will be visiting for a few days (also from Boston) and want to do one serious meal a day (i.e. moderate priced and restaurant experience) and one takeout/very informal meal per day. I am more interested in European foods as we pretty much only eat at Asian or Middle-Eastern here. We are staying near the Berri-UQAM station stop.
Recommendations for bagels, bakeries, delis are especially welcome. Thanks a lot.

You can easily wandering up St-Denis and head to Juliette et Chocolat for some crepes and chocolate fondue or hot chocolate. Your best bet for takeout/very informal might be the bakeries, although there's a lot of quick snack food around Berri/UQAM. A good bakery not too far away is Mamie Clafoutis, and then a little further along up St-Denis you can go to the bistro L'Express for a proper sit down meal. Another great bakery is Kouign Amann on Mont-Royal. Schwartz or the Main are great delis on St-Laurent. For an informal child-friendly meal, St-Hubert Chicken can be fun as they have a play room for the kids and inexpensive kids' meals.
