Took my kids to the Saw Mill back in early April when they came to visit. It was disappointing all the way around. As we entered, some old boy leaving the restaurant yelled "don't order the brisket!"
Perhaps they have gotten better over time. The only problems I've had at the Door is that they run out of things like milk and sour cream and pie, have bees on their patio and the restroom is for, well, little people. I have one go-to on the mountain and it's a veggie sandwich at the Iron Door. Based upon our experience at the Mill, I would go with a burger. And our service was not good.
I had the ribs and collards and both were very good. Friend had the turkey sandwich and sweet potato fries and loved them -- the bread was good which was a nice surprise. We both liked the bread pudding -- manager was our server and did a good job despite the fact that the place was packed.
There was a 30 minute wait at the Iron Door and no place to wait -- menu did not look too interesting so I was glad we decided to try the Saw Mill
