Sea Asparagus (Samphire) for sale anywhere in the Bay Area?

Dear Chowhounders,

I thought If anyone knows the answer to this question one of you would. I'm from the UK where Samphire is readily available, but have never seen it for sale here in the US. I was recently in Kauai and was served it in a restaurant there and found that it is cultivated on Oahu, and have since found a Canadian mail order company. But I'm hoping someone in San Francisco stocks it. I'm kind of obsessed with this delicious plant and would be very grateful for any help in tracking it down.

Thanks so much!

They're usually called sea beans around here. Berkeley Bowl, Rainbow Grocery, Far West Fungi. People forage them locally.

fabulous! Thanks Robert. They are foraged in the UK also. In the summer in coastal areas locals sell huge bags of samphire from honesty boxes outside their houses. I love it steamed and served with melted butter; I could happily eat just that for a meal.
