Italian on Shepherd
I live in the Heights and have been to Nundini three times.
The first time was a great experience. Great service and the food was delicious and felt really authentic (I'm not Italian but I have been to Italy). The second time was a little disappointing, and the third time was somewhere in the middle.
The wine list is great and very reasonably priced, and we actually like the grocery/gelato storefront area... makes it unique.
Nundii is fairly solid, you could do much worse (like D'Amico's).
Another place to try is Capellini's, located deeper into the Heights on Main @ Airline. Love that place too.
