Anyone ever had reindeer meat? I hear it makes pretty good sausage.
I had a reindeer steak about 35 years ago at the 1789 restaurant in Washington, D.C. It was outstanding. The restaurant is still in business; don't know if reindeer is still on their winter menu.
Yup. In Norway. At Christmas. I like venison and it's a stronger version of that, with a texture like...elk or bison, I'd say. Tough stuff but v. flavorful and jsut about as lean. I'd rather have pinnekjott or however it's spelled, the smoked lamb, though, for my holiday, but of course YMMV. don't think they do sausage with it there.
