Restaurant rec for teens?

My 17 yr old son wants to take his girlfriend to see Les Miserables then to dinner. Not sure of the timing - maybe dinner then show or matinee then dinner. This will be his first real dinner and a show. Any suggestions for a restaurant that would be kind to a couple of sweet kids. Not outrageously expensive, but he does want to do it right.

Where is the theater and what do they like to eat?

National - 12th & Penn. They are pretty adventuresome so just about any cuisine is fine. Too young to drink so the wine list is not an issue.

      I would do Tosca.

If that's too pricey, then perhaps Bistro D'Oc.

I would consider the Hamilton - not expensive and lots of options including at least one thing every kid would like. Not difficult to score a reservation.

If he wants something more upscale, Bibiana has an excellent pre-theater dinner menu.

He downloaded the app urbanspoon to his phone, did some research and decided on the Caucus Room by himself. They said it was delicious! Not where I would have picked, but they had a great time. They were so hungry after ice skating (couldn't get theater tickets) that I think anything would have sufficed. Thanks fr your suggestions though, I will try them myself...
