Elegant show-stopping lunch in NYC?

Marisa Dvari Dec 24, 2012 08:21 AM

I've probably been to all, yet curious if I'm missing something ... love Jean-George (formal dining room), Cafe Boulud, Gramercy Tavern (formal dining room) Eleven Madison Park, NoMad, La Grenouille, the Modern (formal dining room), Carlyle ...
... did I miss or forget something?

Thanks in advance!

La Grenouille

Second Del Posto. Great food and beautiful space. Most elegant.

Picholine is the obvious fill in the blank.

I love Picholine, but it's not open at lunch.

That's right. According to the maître d' Picholine won't be reinstating lunch service any time soon.

Here is a long list of some prix fixe lunches, some more elegant than others:

I've read wonderful things about the $55 tasting menu at Bouley. I adore Bouley at dinner, but have never tried it for lunch.
