Which products HAVEN'T changed?

Steve Green Dec 23, 2012 07:43 PM

Lots of threads about how xxxx has changed, not as good as it used to be, etc. Not to mention the ones that are just plain gone. What store-bought food is exactly how you remember it?

I was eating some Fritos tonight, and that's my nomination. The only thing that's changed since I was a kid, is the bag.

I agree with Fritos and most chips in general. I had some nacho cheese Doritos at a pig roast this summer and they tasted exactly as I remember from 20 years ago.

      Baking soda?
This is a tough one, almost anything I can think of has something added or taken away.

As I haven't lived in the US in 20 years...I have to resort to recent visits (3 years ago) for ideas. Maybe, apple sauce hasn't changed? Of course, I'd assume basics like noodles and rice are the same. Besides apple sauce, bologna, salami and some basic cheeses come to mind. Regular cottage cheese, too.

          Tillamook cheese.

            Oatmeal.
Except for all the flavored ones. My son noticed today that the instant oatmeal with dinosaur eggs is still made. He used to eat that as a kid, and he's 25 now.
So it kind of depends on when you were a kid.

Hmmm.... tough one... I would agree with fritos and nacho cheese doritios... even those, I am guessing, have followed the trend of lowering the weight.

I recently noticed that the 2.0z back of lays potato chips were now 1 7/8 Oz.... I mean really, 1/8 oz?

sheesh... come to think of it the orginal lays taste the same to me.
