Sad News About FoodFuser

Gio Dec 22, 2012 11:29 AM

Some of us have learned about the passing of Food Fuser, a frequent poster here at Chowhound. His avatar was the Pillsbury Doughboy. He was known in the world as Dawson Sather. We no longer will have the benefit of his unique view of our world and his witty poems celebrating food, family, and fun.

We hope he's having one heck of a celebration with Sam and Moh.

We enjoyed waking up to a FF food haiku.
                                One of our recent favorites:

                                Weather becalmed

                                Deck beckons to coffee

                                Birds sing morning.

                                Eyes to the onions

                                still bent from the weather

                                not yet walked out there

                                Most bent of stems

will be chopped for my oaties

                                savory goodness

                                Oaties and onions

                                Makes for savory meals

                                And good breakfast.

Speaking on behalf of Scargod (who had communicated with Dawson on occasion), Dawson will be another Chowhound friend he never met but had great admiration for.
