Interesting, fun, and light lunch?

My husband and I are coming into the citty and staying at the Soho Mondrian this weekend. We are eating at Isola in the hotel for dinner Saturday night and need a good lunch rec. We dont love eating 2 big meals in the same day and would love a reccommendation for something other than a big sit down. We've done Eataly and Chelsea market . Wish the new Murray's Cheese bar served lunch. Anything else noteworthy that would fit the bill?

  1. For a seafood lunch:
    Luke's Lobster
    John Dory
    Grey Lady

    1. Have you eaten at all the restaurants in Eataly? For a light lunch we usually do a few dishes at Verdure. Light and delicious.

Also consider someplace like Gramercy Tavern or Union Square Cafe. Sit at the bar, have a glass of wine or a cocktail and share two appetizers. Perfect light lunch. Plus the bar staff at both places are terrific.

Or try Otto. Same scenario; sit at the bar. Dennis, the bar manager, should be on this weekend. He is a gem. Have a vegetable antipasti or two, maybe a salad, and a salumi. You're set.

We always have a great time at these places. Friendly bar staff and always a few regulars sitting at the bar doing the same. More times than not, we usually strike up a conversation with another couple and have an enjoyable afternoon.
