Manna's Soul Food

a harlem location and a 2d location. have heard raves about their food and even their pastrami. looking for feedback

  1. It's a cheap buffet. I wouldn't go looking for any revelations, but it does scratch the itch for soul food. Stewed oxtails, smothered pork chops, turkey are all impossibly tender. Barbecue sauce is that sugary paste that you'll never find at one of the temples of meat downtown or in Brooklyn. Greens are soft and greasy. There are a few misses, the macaroni, the jerk and fried chicken when they've sat out too long, pretty much all the desserts, but you're probably here for meat and three anyway, so you're not missing too much.

    1. There are about four Harlem locations. Try Jacob Restaurant on Lenox and 129th. It's also a buffet and the food is usually fresh. They mix in some Jamaican specialties as well.
