Nishimura on Melrose --- Why hasn't anyone talked about this joint recently ?

Is it just that everywhere else that has opened in the early 2000s and on, has just blown it away ?

Has anyone visited recently ?

What are your thouights ?

I'm pretty sure, though correct me if I am absolutely wrong on this one, that no one has posted on this sushi bar for years.

Nishimura is to sushi what Rolex watches are to people who don't really know what high-end timepieces actually are.

That's giving Nishimura a lot of credit.

        Not really.

For anyone that understands and appreciates timepieces, Rolexes are not only severely overrated from a technical standpoint, but also grossly overpriced.

I would say the same is true for Nishimura.

Pricey, rude, outclassed by Mori and Shunji.

No desire to return after a couple of visits over 5 years ago.

I ate there about a year ago. Yes, it was pricey, very pricey, but I did not encounter any rudeness, and the sushi was extremely fresh and absolutely delicious.

Lucky you. I had a couple of rude encounters with the hostess. JGold wrote about his "minimal courtesy" experience a few years ago.
