Can you make French Toast with Croissants? I know you CAN, but is it a good idea? Anyone tried it? Does it flake apart in the pan? I'm tempted to do it for Christmas brunch.
You can do it, but it does not look good, the croissant does not hold up well when dipped in the eggs.
Get a Brioche if you can.
You could try sort of a baked French toast with the croissants. Not sure if that's just bread pudding, though!
I wouldn't -- not only do they flake, but they tend to just dissolve in liquid, rather than becoming the liquid-holding sponge that brioche or regular bread becomes.
I've done it, but it's not as good as it sounds. If you want to go fancier than regular white bread french toast, I'd go with brioche.
best of both worlds and super easy. We have this for Sunday brunch often.
