Shanghai Village (ex-Cambie Village) re-opened in West Van ?

Heard a rumor it's now near 15 St & Clyde, just north of Ambleside. Can anyone confirm, or provide a TOFTT report ?

Shanghai Village opened recently on Clyde near 15th in West Vancouver.

I'm not sure if it's the same one from before (as I never visited that restaurant). We went and tried a few dishes and thought it was okay. The XLB were quite good and juicy but everything else was just okay.

The other thing I didn't like was that many of the dishes are all quite large ($20+). I like ordering a variety of dishes and even one dish is too much for two people.

Thanks for the TOFTT report, Quddous. Have you been to the original SV location ? Wondering if the owner, staff and chefs (dishes & preparations) are about the same as before, or radically different ?

I've never been to the original. I wouldn't recommend this one based on my experience.

The chefs seemed experienced but the front of staff were quite lost.

May be a different outfit, or at least a different prep on the XLB as SV's were notoriously runty and run of the mill (they used to give them away free if you ordered more than $20 of food, IIRC). Still, good to have a Shanghainese option (not to mention such a timely report, thanks, quddous) in West Van.
