Need THE BEST Ciappino recipe for Christmas Eve

Hi all! I want to do a condensed version of the Feast for Christmas Eve. We're not Italian, but I like the idea of starting a new tradition. I'd love to come up with a recipe that includes 7 seafood items into one amazing ciappino. I'm an adventurous cook, but I've never made this before - would love all your tips. So far, I've got lobster tails, crab, shrimp, scallops, cod...will probably be able to get clams and oysters or mussels. Give 'em if you've got 'em!

  1. i like (and have used) the Giada de Laurentis recipe from - you can play somewhat with the the combinations of fish/shellfish (i like to add crabmeat) but it's a good recipe as is.

    1. We had cioppino for dinner tonight. It's different every time but it's always better the next day when the flavors meld. Unfortunately, there's very little left over. No matter which direction you take any of these recipes, it's always delicious. Tonight's version: 2 Dungeness crabs, Alaska wild caught cod, clams, shrimp, scallops, and squid.

      1. Here's my recipe. I use it almost every year in place of the actual Feast of the Seven Fishes. It's so delicious and beautiful.
