Marche PA on Fort rearranged/renovated!

Marche PA on Fort is my favourite grocery store and since I live only two blocks away I'm there all the time. I went there this evening after work and had a shock, they rearranged everything! I was wandering around with a distraught expression on my face wondering where everything was when one of the employees walked by and I said to him "they moved everything around! Do they still have the roast chicken and vats of olives?" and he told me they did, and showed me the new upstairs section (the staircase to which I had completely missed on my way in) with all the prepared foods, still being set up. My dismay and bewilderment were replaced by excitement as I wandered the no-longer-cramped and inefficient aisles and enjoyed the view from the new beautiful upstairs. The place really needed it!

  1. from your pics it looks like they only opened up the deli counter area. the rest looks the same.

    1. Is the upstairs accessible to customers who can't climb stairs? That is an important consideration nowadays.

If so, that is good, as the few times I've been to that PA branch, I've found it rather chaotic. I live much closer to the original Parc branch, and it is really cramped, but I don't see how they could possibly expand it unless the copy store next door should move.

      1. Yeah, it's pretty cool. Was quite the shock to us as well! So far, so good, it does seem like the lineups will decrease a bit due to the cash area being a little less cramped.

And no, the upstairs isn't accessible to disabled folks. I would guess employees can provide adequate help in that case.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of effect the new Adonis will have on the PA crowds.

Block or two east of the old forum, on the north side of the street. Will be on the ground floor of a housing development.

right, thanks, I now recall hearing this a few months ago. Should do well there.

I'd love to hear more about the new downtown Adonis. Please keep us posted!

In 2012, I do not think having a section of a supermarket non-accessible to disabled people is acceptable. And I'm an old fan of PA.
