Date night in Ottawa

Hi, hubbie and I have a night without child in Ottawa just before Christmas. We really only know some of the pubs in the market. We are looking for some suggestions, we are open to cuisine and $ isn't an issue. We have a car so are mobile. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks!
If you are looking in the market area, you might try looking at Sidedoor Contemporary Kitchen. It's a fusion Asian-Taco place - I know, sounds a little crazy for a date night, but it's not anything like a typical taco joint. It's got a great date night vibe and the house-made doughnut sharing platter is absolutely not to be missed. I was there on a recent trip to Ottawa and am inventing excuses to go back just for that doughnut platter....!
Second FrenchSoda's recommendation for Sidedoor. It's a very spacious room and good for sharing plates. I really enjoyed their seafood dishes though the meats looked pretty good as well.
The other place that's nice if you're looking for casual (and Sidedoor is fairly casual) and an opportunity to kindle the romance (i.e. more sharing plates) is Play Food and Wine at 1 York. They have some nice charcuterie and cheese plates and other savoury choices. The only downside was I did find there was a bit of a draft inside but I think it had to do with the way the vents were set up in the rooms but otherwise, also a good choice. Enjoy your night out!
