New to the area, is there anywhere you can get your knives Sharpened?

I moved to the Chester County area and want to know if there is a place to get your knives sharpened. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sears Hardware in Phoenixville does a nice job...if that's near you. I take all my (work) knives to them. Usually 2 days. Price varies per blade...but always reasonable. I know Williams-Sonoma at the KOP mall does them...but I just hate giving them my money for anything.

I have used the 202 Knife Shop in the past on route 202 outside of West Chester, plus you can go to Jimmy Johns next door for a great hot dog, all my knives came back super super sharp, I believe I had 15 knives sharpened, they do serratted knives also. They send their knifes out I believe and the owner is a really friendly person. If I didn't live so far from him I would use him more often. The pricing is pretty good also, nothing against william sonoma, kitchen kapers, I wouldn't trust those guys with my knifes. I would sharpen them myself then let them do it just saying.

If you're in southern Chester County -- the Shop Rite store on Rt. 202 in north Wilmington will sharpen your knives at no cost while you shop. Bring them to the butcher department in the back of the store.

I've used Nail's. He comes to our local farmer's market. He's quick and does a nice job.

Williams Sonoma and Kitchen Kapers sharpen knives at most locations, but I prefer to use local small businesses if possible.

He comes to a number of farmers markets - glad to hear folks are supporting him!

we drop our knives at Kitchen Kapers in English Village, montgomeryville. they send them out for sharpening, so it takes a few days.

Tacos, thanks for the links to Neils, I'm going to see if I can hook up with his service, it would be nice to have them back right away!

So I got two recommendations to use the Diamond Edge, any particular reason. Have you actually used the service and if so how was it?

I waited long enough and decided it was time to get the knives sharpened. The Diamond Edge has a website and it was very informative. I called and was told no appointment was needed. I was told if I dropped them off on Wednesday, I could have them back the next day. I got them back and was very surprised. The knives looked great, the edges were clean and sharp. The first time I use a knife after having it sharpened I can tell if they were done right. I am happy to announce they were a joy to use. I am happy that I chose The Diamond Edge to sharpen them and would not hesitate to recommend their service to anyone. Thanks for all your help.
