Fantastic lunch at Aldea

Spiritchaser Dec 18, 2012 04:30 AM

I wrote a very detailed review but when I tried to post it CHOW threw an error message. Rather than try to recreate it I'll just say that lunch at Aldea was wonderful from start to finish, counter seating was fun, service was great, and it was a relative bargain for 2 apps, 2 mains, 2 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine, coffee and tea, around $130 before tip and I know about $56 of the bill was the booze so...

I know we originally picked Aldea due to it's proximity to where we needed to be but now having tried it I don't care if it';s nearby or not, we will be returning.

Jealous. I never get to do lunch. But I love this place for dinner. My current faves are the sea urchin toast, the egg with bacalhau and olives, and that fantastic suckling pig.

And I am jealous of you because the lunch menu doesn't have the suckling pig : ), guess I'll just have to head back for dinner.

The seared calamari app and the skate wing main I had were wonderful, best calamari I have had in a while.
