dinner in Condesa?

jennympat Dec 17, 2012 07:03 PM

My husband and I are going to Mexico City for the first time at the end of this week, and are staying in Condesa, and are thinking we'd like to stick to the neighborhood for our first dinner (we get in Friday afternoon). What would be a good "welcome to Mexico City!" dinner?

We'll only be in the DF for a few days before we head to the beach (Lo de Marcos, north of PV), so any suggestions re: maxing our time and taco consumption would be very welcomed! Thanks!

If you are looking for a truly excellent traditional Mexican meal at a restaurant in La Condesa, you can't go wrong with Azul/Condesa at Nuevo León #68. Service and food are marvelous and the price is fair, about mid-range for a lovely restaurant.

You WILL need a reservation. Mexico is mid-Posadas (annual 9-day Christmas party season) and many restaurants will be completely booked. Reserve now, if you can.

I second this suggestion. To say I've enjoyed every meal I've had there (4 or 5) is an understatement.

          Cristina -
Would you like to meet my husband and I for a coffee? It would be lovely to meet you. We are staying at the Red Tree House and only have 4 days in the city so we want to max our culinary wanderings! I know it's a busy time of year, but if you are available, we'd love to meet you. Thanks -
