cook books

i am interested in a couple of cook books. any thoughts on these would be helpful. THE NEW BEST REC. by cooks illustrated.THE AMERICAN TEST KITCHEN FAMILY COOK BOOK and COOKS ILLUSTRATED COOK BOOK ,2.000 rec. from 20 years. is there one better than the others?

    The ATC Family Cookbook is my go-to for all things basic. There have been some recipes that have not been to my taste, but a number of recipes are my standard go-tos.

      I think that they are all essentially the same books. Cooks tends to recycle recipes. I have The New Best Recipe and the Cooks Illustrated Cook Book, and I like them both. I have made many recipes from Best Recipes and am not delving more into Cooks Illustrated. They are not the most creative cookbooks in the world, but they are solid and offer pretty dependable results.
