Looking for well-priced free-range turkey for Christmas dinner

  • 9

Any tips on who has nice turkeys at a good price this year? I've bought Beretta in the past, as well as Healthy Butcher birds, with good results. Thanks.

  1. Everyone's pocket is a little different, so define "good price?"

Also the average price for most Free-Range Turkey's seem to be about $3-4/lb, so YMMV.

Thanks asagirl. I just priced Beretta turkeys at a small market near Yonge and Eg (Marcheleo's) at $4.99 for a 12-15 lb bird. I'll pay this if I have to but would prefer to find a slightly cheaper and slightly larger turkey. Thanks.

Try St. Andrews Poultry over by Spadina and Kensington, they should have Turkey's at a better price.

I have no problem with St. Andrews, but some in my family would prefer a free-range or organic turkey.

    2. May be too late to order but you could try Fresh from the Farm on Donlands...

I'll give them a call tochowchick. Thanks.

Got one from Fresh from the Farm...$3.85 for free-range, small farm turkey. Thanks tochowchick...I'd forgotten about this great place.

        2. Try Sanagan's Meat Locker on Baldwin, where the old European Meat Market used to be - probably free range, not organic. Very good and very nice people, but you have order soon.
