Restless West LA Vegan - New V. Friendly Restaurant Ideas?
Had a good dinner at Gjelina last night, big group, my teen daughter and I were the only Vegans. Some kind of broiled cauliflower, grilled radicchio, some sort of broccoli rabe, pomodoro pizza, bean stew. It was all completely amazing.
The meal made me realize I need to look for some new West LA vegan friendly eats. I don't often eat at strictly v. places, because only 2/5 of the family eats that way. We can do Blue Plate, Real Food Daily, most sushi places, some Sawtelle curry/soon tofu places. Falafel. Ramen is usually too porky. Mexican food is usually too meaty/cheesy, aside from the beans. Swingers works. Veggie Grill works, but I'm not a big fan of fake meats.
Anyone else out there who likes to eat at "regular" restaurants have any ideas? Thanks!

Beet saladalso, a there is a whole vegan section of the menu at Shamshiri Grill and, in addition, most of their appetizers are also vegan even though they are not listed in the vegan section of the menu.
personally, at shamshiri i go for:
a) the vegan Gormeh Sabzi
b)the specialty rice dish Addas Polo (order it made with BROWN rice instead of white)
c) the grape leaves that are stuffed with a lentil mix instead of the more traditional oily rice filling
d) the hummusalso, Lukshon offers one vegan main dish: the Tofu Salad.

re: Margaret Santa Monica
You should check out Gratitude Cafe in Venice for one (even though it's vegan) http://cafegratitudevenice.com/ and Superba Snack Bar http://superbasnackbar.com/ is a good place for both vegans and non vegans as well.
