Day after Christmas dinner

My 17-year-old daughter and I will be spending Christmas day and the day after in Manhattan. We've been there several times before so we are somewhat familiar with the City. We are looking for dinner options. She loves ethnic foods and I am looking for the quintessential NYC experience. Some of our past favorites have been Babbo, Cookshop, ABC Kitchen and Mailiano.
We typically stay south of Times Square but I am not opposed to an uptown option. I am also wondering if there are places that could be 'fall back' options that would not require a reservation, in case we are caught up in a shopping frenzy,

You'll have lots of options if you're OK eating at the bar or willing to wait for a table.

I'd try a Momofuku restaurant, perhaps Ssam Bar.

    Some good discussion here:

A lot of the more "neighborhood" restaurants might work, too.
