I gotta give a shout-out to Marchello's, in Tampa

In the Home Goods shopping center on N. Dale Mabry and Van Dyke is a nice little neighborhood Italian restaurant with super friendly and attentive staff and freakin' excellent pepperoni pizza!

I drive a lot for work and cannot simply pass-by when I'm in the area... Rarely do I not need to ask for extra cheese, but here I don't... The one time I did it was a little ridiculous... The cheese is top-shelf and full flavor, the crust is spectacular & not too thin, & the pepperoni makes it just the right amount of oily... 'Crust dippin' oil baby!'

They do 2 BIG heavy slices and a drink for like $6.00---- but three slices are better...

A few days after a recent visit I went to another popular NY pizza place further south on Dale Mabry and there was no comparison... The difference was a little embarrassing actually... Next time in I might take their Schpagetti & Meatballs for a ride... And maybe a couple schlices for the ride home.... Sorry for the cell phone pic....

  1. That looks like awesome Pizza. I wish we had a place like that in Seminole. We had a place that had opened recently, then closed called " A Slice of NY" that had good NY style pizza. Too many chains and not enough local places that have pizza that looks like that picture.
