I am making a pot of glogg on Saturday and cannot find whole blanched almonds. Looked in Trader Joe's, Stop and Shop and Big Y. Any suggestions on finding them? Or should I substitute?
Ocean State Job Lot actually has a great specialty foods section. Also Check with Edge of the Woods in New Haven.
Not certain, but I'd be shocked if Fairway in Stamford didn't have them
Did you try Whole foods or Elm City market? You can also buy almonds skin on, roast them and put the in a dish towel to rub the skins off.
Or dump them in a big pot of boiling water for a few minutes, then drain.
