Hungry for Hungarian

Does anyone know a good place in Toronto where a hungry carnivore can eat a passable "Hungarian fatal" -- the traditional and very meat-heavy wooden platter dish? Thanks!

agreed they have the wooden platter meal your looking for.

    2. Cafe Polonez is great. Love their schnitzels and beet salad. It is a Polish joint, but I remember their placky was specified Hungarian. Experts please chime in.

Gourmet Schnitzel House was recommended to me once. I haven't been, but from their website, it looks like some authentic good eats.

I would avoid both Hungary Thai and Country Style Hungarian though. Quality had declined substantially over the years.

      1. Country Style on Bloor, it's a pale shadow of what it once was but they do still have a wooden platter with 2 kinds of schnitzel and sausage on their menu. You asked for passable, it's passable, maybe just slightly better than passable but not much.
