how far ahead can i bake these?
i'm making this: http://joythebaker.com/2012/12/cranbe... but as mini-loaves - for small gifts. i will wrap them in clear wrap and ribbon. i'm not a big baker - how long ahead can i make them and have them still fresh to give away.
The first place I always go to with a question like this is the recipe itself. The very last line in the recipe states "cake can be stored, well wrapped at room temperature, for up to 5 days." I would use that as your guideline. Also the recipient may not immediately eat your food gift, so when deciding which day you will make the cakes, keep in mind that it is probably necessary to allow for several day's shelf life for the gift once given.
The recipe itself says they freeze very well, so it appears you could bake them at your convenience, freeze them, then remove from freezer the day or night before you want to gift them (although I'd probably add the glaze the day of the gifting is to occur).
