AQ or Commis (again)
I'm heading up to the Bay Area again in January. I am going to immerse myself my annual 7-day silent meditation retreat at Spirit Rock and want to have my ritual "nice" meal before I head up to San Rafael. My thoughts are leaning towards AQ or to dine at Commis again (I was there last month - November - and was really entranced by the whole experience). Feedback is appreciated Thanks.

Interesting question. Since you were there so recently, have you considered calling Commis and asking how similar the menu will be? I have to say I loved the spring and summer meals I had at AQ, but the reports of the Fall menu seem to be somewhat less glowing.

Thanks for the info. I had a similar experience with my two trips to Manresa this year - June, which was magnificent, and November, which was underwhelming. There were some differences in service, but I wonder if the seasonality of the menus and my own seasonal preferences were the main variables in my perceptions and experiences.
