re: creamfinger
To be honest, I like all Dim Sum offerings in general, so I may not be the best one to ask when it comes to asking for favorites....I love it all. Most of the selections are standard fare and perfectly serviceable....a few of the items were a little under seasoned, but nothing condiments couldn't correct.
My camera battery died, so I could not take and post all the pictures of the items we had.....but this restaurant also does some nice small plates passed around and on cart service as well. We also had Crispy Fried Squid, Cockles in Black Bean Sauce, Cuttlefish in Curry Sauce, Fried Anchovies, Snails in Black Bean Sauce, BBQ Red Roast Pork and Mini Fried Turnip Cakes.
Juk, or Congee (Rice Porridge) is available off the cart service.
The favorites for the family are the usual suspects:
Shu Mai
Har Gow
Fun Guo / Shrimp, Pork & Peanut Dumplings
Fried Turnip Cakes / Lo Bak Gow
Taro Dumpling / Wu Gok
Phoenix Talons/Fung Zao
Beef / Shrimp Cheung Fun
Shrimp and Pea Shoot Tips Dumpling
Char Shu Sou / BBQ Pork Pasty Triangles
Pei Guen/Fried Tofu Skin Rolls
Lo Mai Gai / Sticky Rice, Pork Chicken and Lop Cheoung
Gai Lan / Chinese BroccoliDan Tat
Custard Buns/Gai Yeng BoaFor the record, my family prefers Qin dynasty over Noodle Chu across the highway....both for food and service. while a trip to Chinatown is preferred, the simple truth is with large family gatherings and elder relatives.....Parsippany is much more convenient and only a 30 minute drive for most of the family members......the added plus is that with the savings on gas, tolls and parking....I figure the first 50-60 is like getting free food, since it can be applied to the final check.
Points to note:
Get there before Noon, or expect to wait
The restaurant offers a 10% cash discount during the week and a 5% cash discount on weekend Dim Sum.
