Asheville Christmas Food Gifts (esp. nuts)?

  • 3

I am seeking suggestions for food-based gifts that can travel from the Asheville area. I've gotten the Blue Ridge Foodways (?) boxes in the past to great success, just thinking about other options. In particular, does anyone know a local nut roaster or candy shop that carries nuts roasted in-house?

  1. Women Helping Women is out of Burnsville iirc. Their fruit cakes are the best I've ever had. I demo'd their product several years in the past and people absolutely loved everything they tried. They also roast nuts now too. They are a non-profit and really make a difference.

Earth Fare used to carry their products but I have heard with the newest owners this has changed.

    1. Check the Western NC Farmers Market. They have all kinds of local products, including jams/jellies, pickles, honey, bread, crafts, and much more. It's a great place to fill a gift basket.
