T-Fal Actifry

I tried to search for a thread but couldn't find anything.

Does anybody have one of those? I would love to hear how well it works and if it lasts. I saw a few reviews on Amazon where people had problems with the paddle.

Also, what are you cooking in the Actifry?

  1. Hey, me too. The sales propaganda spews 1 tablespoon of oil per batch of fries. The batches, however, look smaller than in my current tfal deep fryer, AND if you fry properly, supposedly food shouldn't absorb that much oil....Is this thing all that? Anyone get one for Christmas?

I got one just before Christmas and I like it. There are different sizes. 2.2 lbs, 2.6 lbs and the family size holds 3.3 lbs.
We got the 2.6 lbs and it's definitely big enough for 2.

I didn't really buy it only for fries. I saw the different receipes and liked what I saw.
I have tried lots of different ones incl. fries, mixed veggies, chicken wings, taco meat, different stir fries, kale chips.
I think the results are great and while I wouldn't leave it alone like a crockpot, I like that I can do the dishes or prep a salad while it cooks.
Huge plus, the kitchen doesn't smell of frying like it would when you fry in a pan. I haven't had a deep fryer in forever so I can't really compare but everything sure turns out better than in the oven.

    2. The other potential issue is the BPA in the plastic. I saw it on one thread, it was an older post so maybe it has been changed. Reliability was another issue...expensive way to make fries.
